Thekwini Stakes next for Dynasty daughter

17th Jul 2017

Outstanding sire Dynasty has enjoyed a truly unbelievable year with his daughters in 2016-2017.
His daughters Bela-Bela, Just Sensual, Lady Of The House and Smiling Blue Eyes have totally dominated South Africa graded races for the fairer sex, with Dynasty fillies winning all of the G1 Maine Chance Farms Paddock Stakes, G1 Woolavington 2000, G1 Jonsson Workwear Garden Province Stakes, G1 World Sports Betting Cape Fillies Guineas, and G2 Wilgerbosdrift Gauteng Fillies Guineas this season.

Lady Of The House

Now, Dynasty looks to have yet another talented filly to his name in the form of the undefeated two-year-old Lady In Black.

The latter, bred by Willem Englebrecht Jr, made it two wins from as many outings when scoring an impressive win over 1400m at Greyville on Saturday and will now be aimed at the G1 Thekwini Stakes at the end of the month.
Trained by Dennis Drier (who also handled Dynasty’s champion daughter Beach Beauty), Lady In Black was a R1 100 000 buy from last year’s National Yearling Sale.

She was one of two South African winners for Dynasty this weekend, with the latter’s current tally of 2yo winners standing at seven, headed by G3 Protea Stakes winner Barrack Street and impressive recent winners Eyes Wide Open and Flying Fable.

Smiling Blue Eyes

Former Horse Of The Year Dynasty will make his presence felt at this year’s National Two Year Old Sale.
Not only is the champion himself represented by four quality lots himself, but Dynasty’s sons Irish Flame and Jackson have between them 20 two-year-olds on offer.
