Klawervlei Stud’s young Tapit stallion Coup De Grace came up with his second first crop winner when his two-year-old daughter French Fling swept to an impressive win at Durbanville on Tuesday afternoon.

Under Joshwin Solomons, the Klawervlei Stud bred filly justified tote favouritism when romping home to a clear-cut, one and three-quarter length win for owners over 1000m.
Trained by Vaughan Marshall, French Fling had been placed in two of her earlier starts and she has now won or placed in three of her five starts.

French Fling, Coup De Grace’s first winner in South Africa, was a R140 000 buy from the 2019 CTS Ready To Run Sale.

Her G2 Amsterdam Stakes/G3 Bay Shore Stakes winning sire Coup De Grace has had 14 first crop runners who have finished in the money.

Coup De Grace, who shares his multiple champion sire with outstanding young US sire Constitution and five Breeders’ Cup winners, has four yearlings on offer at this week’s Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale.
