Ridgemont’s five time G1 winning sire Canford Cliffs enjoyed feature race success at Fairview on Friday when his daughter Song Of Myself won the Speedsters Stakes (Open (Non-Black Type)) over 1000m.
In the process, the five-year-old provided her trainer Gavin Smith with a fifth straight win in the sprint.
Under Yuzae Ramzan, Song Of Myself stormed home to land Friday’s feature race by an emphatic three and a quarter lengths.
The Canford Cliffs mare has won four of just nine starts, with Song Of Myself victorious in three of four starts at Fairview.
Bred by Ridgemont Highlands, Song Of Myself is owned by Hollywood Racing.
The mare, who is out of the Poet’s Voice daughter Leaves Of Grass making Song Of Myself a full-sister to the smart Body Electric, was one of two winners in South Africa for Canford Cliffs on Friday.
Canford Cliffs’ gelding Golden Rule picked up his second career win when romping home to win the ninth and final race at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Friday evening.
Canford Cliffs also enjoyed success at the East Cape Racing Awards ceremony on Saturday, where his son Bournemouth was crowned the region’s Champion Stayer.
