Stakes treble for Master Of My Fate
Varsfontein Stud’s homebred top stallion Master Of My Fate had another fantastic weekend this past week.
Not only did Master Of My Fate’s close relative Note To Self win Saturday’s G1 Hollywoodbets Durban July, but Master Of My Fate was responsible for a trio of stakes winners over the weekend.

Master Of My Fate enjoyed a feature race double at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Saturday.
It could have been a Saturday feature treble, with Master Of My Fate’s stakes winning daughter Alice B Toklas beaten just over a length when second in Saturday’s G2 Amusnet Golden Slipper.

Master Of My Fate’s first feature race success at Hollywoodbets Greyville came when his son Jet Force downed a top-class field to win the G3 Post Merchants (1200m).
Trained by Des McLachlan, five-year-old Jet Force was backed from 20-1 into 5-1 for Saturday’s R500 000 contest and he duly obliged. Dropped out by Grant Van Niekerk, Jet Force unleashed a fine turn of foot which propelled the gelding to hit the front close home, and Jet Force stayed on to beat favourite Buffalo Storm Cody by half a length.
Bred by Beaumont Stud, Jet Force races for Messrs Denis Le Breton & A L Taylor, Mr K & Miss K Geemooi & Mrs G C Hutchinson. The 2026 Post Merchants winner is out of the Var mare Ooh La Var, and is thus bred on the same cross as Equus Champions Golden Palm and Tempting Fate.

Master Of My Fate’s second black type win on Saturday came when his four-year-old gelded son Talk To The Master captured the Listed Premier Gateway International Thukela Handicap (1600m).
Making his first start for Frikkie Greyling, Talk To The Master picked up his biggest win to date when storming home, under Serino Moodley, to claim the Thukela Handicap by over half a length.
Bred by Varsfontein Stud, Talk To The Master has won five of 16 starts and he races for Messrs G P Arnassalom, Balraj Chinniah & S D Smit.

The red-hot Master Of My Fate is also the sire of exciting three-year-old Errol Flynn.
The latter made it three wins in a row when he won the G3 TAB Sea Cottage Stakes (1800m) at Turffontein on Sunday. Under Keagan De Melo, the Joe Soma trained three-year-old stormed home to claim the first graded win of his career by a length and three-quarters.
Bred by Sandra Michelle Ajax and Target Acquired, Errol Flynn races for the Wernars Family, D Chinsammy & TKP Racing. Winner of five of his first seven starts, Errol Flynn is out of the What A Winter mare What A Player and he is bred on the same cross as top-class filly Anotherdanceforme.
