POMODORO
A versatile, July winning son of seven times South African champion sire Jet Master, he was South Africa’s Leading First Season Sire of 2017-2018. He is already the sire of a dual G1 winner, and champion, in the form of Return Flight, as well as G1 Cape Racing Presents Cape Guineas winner Russian Rock, who recently finished a close up second in the G2 Independent On Saturday Drill Hall Stakes. Other notable runners sired by Pomodoro include the graded stakes winners Cirillo, Epsom Girl and Golden Belle, as well as the likes of Barzalona, Black Thorn, Caralluma, and Leopold.
POTALA PALACE
The G1 winning half-brother to G1 WSB Fillies Guineas winner Front And Centre has already made his mark at stud from limited opportunities. His small first crop was headed by the G1 sprinter Palace Chapel, G3 Man O’War Sprint runner up Russian Prince and the talented Senatla, while his second crop includes G3 Pretty Polly Stakes winner Palace Of Dreams, G1 South African Fillies Sprint winner Singforafa and the brilliant, Singpore based Katak -who won all three legs of the Winter Series in 2020.
QUERARI
A G1 winning son of champion sprinter and top-class sire Oasis Dream, he has consistently proved one of South Africa’s most successful active sires. Leading Sire of 2YOs, by stakes, in 2018-2019, he again, at the time of writing, heads that list for 2021-2022. His notable progeny include champion Rio Querari and fellow G1 winner Querari Falcon, as well as this season’s graded stakes winning two-year-olds Prophet and Galla Vanting. Sire of 30 stakes winners, and counting, his yearlings made up to R900 000 at this year’s National Sale and Cape Premier Yearling Sale.
RAFEEF
A G1 winning full-brother to Equus Champion Mustaaqeem, the son of legendary Australian sire Redoute’s Choice has made an exceptional start to his stud career. South Africa’s Leading First Season of 2020-2021, his stellar first crop is headed by a pair of G1 winners in Aragosta (WSB SA Derby) and Master Archie (Computaform Sprint) as well as G3 winner William Robertson and such performers Cleaver Greene and Whafeef. His second crop also looks promising and includes G2 Heineken SA Nursery runner up Union Square and G3 Kenilworth Fillies Nursery second Spywing.
RED RAY
One of the best sons of multiple champion sire Western Winter, the full-brother to G1 Thekwini Stakes winner Nania finished first, second or third in six G1 races and won the 2016 G1 Mercury Sprint (a race won previously by the likes of Jet Master and What A Winter). He made a tremendous start with his first crop of runners headed by G1 WSB SA Classic winner Red Saxon and talented filly Alula’s Star.
ROYAL MO
A top-class racehorse, he won the G3 Robert B. Lewis Stakes (a race won previously by such notable horses as champion I’ll Have Another and top-class sire Pioneerof The Nile ) and finished third in the G1 Santa Anita Derby. He is the only son of outstanding US sire Uncle Mo standing at stud in South Africa, with Uncle Mo already sire of a high-class sire son in the form of Kentucky Derby winning champion Nyquist. Other G1 winners sired by Uncle Mo include Bast, Gomo, Mo Forza, Mo Town, Outwork and dual Breeders’ Cup winner Golden Pal.
