Ridgemont’s increasingly successful stallion Rafeef had yet another good day on Saturday.
Rafeef daughters Chasing Happiness and Mrs Browning ran 1-2 in the G2 TAB Senor Santa Stakes (1160m), run at Turffontein on Saturday.
The Johan Janse Van Vuuren trained Chasing Happiness picked up her second graded win this season when she landed Saturday’s R500 000 sprint.
Under a well timed ride from S’Manga Khumalo, the four-year-old stormed home to down her paternal half-sister, and multiple graded stakes winner, Mrs Browning by nearly a length and three quarters.
Bred by Ridgemont Highlands, Chasing Happiness is out of the Daylami mare Kalami.
The Rafeef filly has won six of 14 starts, with Chasing Happiness having won the G3 Betway Carry On Alice Stakes earlier this season.
Other notable races won by the progeny of Rafeef this season include the G1 TAB Computaform Sprint, G2 Western Cape Fillies Championship, G2 De Grendel Cape Merchants, G3 TAB J J The Jet Plane Stakes, and Listed Wilgerbosdrift Ruffian Stakes.
