Varsfontein Stud’s top-class sire Master Of My Fate looks to have come up with yet another top-class sort in the form of Jet Force.
The latter picked up the third graded win of his career when running out a very impressive winner of the G3 Matchem Stakes (1400m) at Hollywoodbets Durbanville on Saturday.
Trained by Des McLachlan, the lightly raced five-year-old was having his first start since finishing second, behind Equus Champion Buffalo Storm Cody, in the G1 Mercury Sprint.
Under a confident ride from the returning Grand Van Niekerk, Jet Force unleashed a devastating turn of foot which saw him blow his rivals to win going away by half a length.
Bred by Beaumont Stud, Saturday’s winner races for Denis Le Breton & A L Taylor, Mr K & Miss K Geemooi & Mrs G C Hutchinson.
A R350 000 buy from the 2023 November Two Year Old Sale, Jet Force is out of the Var mar Ooh La Var and is thus bred on the same Master Of My Fate/ Var cross as champions Golden Palm and Tempting Fate.
The gelding has won eight of 14 starts, with Jet Force’s previous victories including the 2026 G3 Post Merchants and 2026 G3 Variety Club Mile.
His sire Master Of My Fate has four lots on offer at the October Two Year Old Sale.
