Third graded win for Visionaire filly

16th Nov 2018

Lammerskraal Stud’s in-form sire Visionaire made headlines at Turffontein on Thursday night when his star daughter Takingthepeace won the G3 Victory Moon Stakes in scintillating fashion.
The four-year-old Mike de Kock trained filly made it win number six when scoring a three parts of a length win in the R400 000 race (delayed after a storm) under the urgings of jockey Warren Kennedy.

Takingthepeace

Bred by the Summerhill Stud, Takingthepeace stamped herself a lively contender for December’s G1 G-bets Gauteng Summer Cup with Thursday’s win, which saw the talented filly accounted for graded winners Sabina’s Dynasty, Liege, French Navy, Bulleting Home and Deo Juvente.

Takingthepeace was one of the best 3yo fillies of 2017-2018, during which season she won four times including the G1 Wilgerbosdrift SA Fillies Classic and G2 Wilgerbosdrift Gauteng Fillies Guineas.

The filly, who has now earned R1 751 125 in prize money, was a R280 000 buy from the 2016 CTS Johannesburg Ready To Run Sale.

Takingthepeace is one of 12 black type performers for her G1 King’s Bishop Stakes winning sire Visionaire –who was South Africa’s Leading First Crop Sire of 2014-2015 and Leading Second Crop Sire of 2015-2016.

Vi Va Pi Pa

Other notable black type performers representing Visionaire include the graded stakes winners Heaps Of Fun, Royal Pleasure, Africa Rising, and The Thinker and the G1 filly Visuality, while Visionaire 3yo gelding In Cahoots, who holds an entry in the upcoming G2 Dingaans, ran third in the recent G3 Graham Beck Stakes.

Visionaire, who was the Leading Sire by Aggregate at the 2018 Emperors Palace Ready To Run Sale, also made news recently when his daughter Vi Va Pi Pa (who has been entered for the G3 Fillies Mile) won the 2018 R500 000 Emperors Palace Ready To Run Cup at Turffontein.
