Ridgemont’s Triple Crown winning sire Malmoos has made a promising start with his first two-year-olds this season.
The son of Captain Al came up with a third first-crop winner when Malmoos filly Malibu Ice won at Fairview on Friday.

Trained by Alan Greeff, Malibu Ice had caught the eye when finishing second on debut and duly built on that effort on Friday.
Under Richard Fourie, the Malmoos filly ran on powerfully in the closing stages of Friday’s TAB 4Racing App Maiden Juvenile Plate (Fillies) (1400m) to score by a length and a half.

Bred by Boland Stud, Malibu Ice races for Peter Moor.

Friday’s winner, who is out of the Trippi mare California Cool, was a R500 000 buy from the 2025 August Two Year Old Sale.

Malibu Ice joins unbeaten Listed East Cape Fillies Nursery winner Marchland and debut winner Within Reach as early winners for Malmoos.
A son of champion sire Captain Al, and closely related to promising young sire Erik The Red, Malmoos has 17 lots on offer at the National Yearling Sale.
