Ridgemont’s blue blooded young sire Real Gone Kid came up with his third first-crop winner on Wednesday.
His Candice Bass trained two-year-old daughter Preacher Man made much of the running to land the Hollywoodbets Durbanville Welcomes You Maiden Juvenile Plate (Fillies) (1000m).

Under Callan Murray, Preacher Man kicked on strongly in the closing stages and drew off to win Wednesday’s contest by a length and three quarters.

Bred by Narrow Creek Stud, the Real Gone Kid filly was making her third racecourse appearance on Wednesday.
Owned by Messrs Mark Bass, Wehann Smith & Jacques van Niekerk, Mrs Roberta Jansch & Mr A & Mrs E Stokes, Preacher Man was an R80 000 from the 2025 Race Coast Two Year Old Sale. She could now have a tilt at the R3 000 000 Race Coast Slipper

Wednesday’s winner is out of the Querari mare Angel’s Trumpet. Preacher Man joins the unbeaten Master Mtoto and the promising filly Lady Jean as early winners for Real Gone Kid.
