Three in a row for Querari gelding

1st Nov 2018

Maine Chance Farms’ inform sire Querari, responsible for a string of feature race winners recently, was back in the news at Greyville’s mid-week meeting on Wednesday.

Querari

The G1 winning son of Oasis Dream is the sire of the consistent Kazaar, who made it three wins on the bounce when landing a pinnacle stakes over 1600m for trainer Dennis Bosch and jockey Brandon Lerena.
Ridden just off the pace, Kazaar stormed down the centre of the track to record a comfortable one and a half length win on the polytrack.

Bred by John and Liz Slade, the gelded four-year-old Kazaar, who was just four lengths off subsequent July winner Do It Again in last season’s G2 Daisy Guineas, has now won six of 12 races and earned more than R470 000 in prize money.

Kazaar, whose previous wins included a score in the KZN Winter Challenge 1600m, was a R275 000 buy from the 2016 Cape Premier Yearling Sale.

He is out of the Count Dubois mare Mochalette and is thus bred on the same cross as G3 Man O’War Sprint winner Pinnacle Peak, the very exciting filly Arianos Shadow and G1 Thekwini Stakes second Melliflora.

Pleasedtomeetyou

Querari has enjoyed a fantastic 2018-2019 season thus far, with his notable winners including Listed Sophomore Sprint winner Pleasedtomeetyou (third in Saturday’s G3 Cape Classic), KZN Fillies Guineas Trial heroine Arianos Shadow and Listed Michaelmas Handicap victor Warfarer.

He has four lots on Sunday’s Emperors Palace Ready To Run Sale, and 12 lots on the CTS Ready To Run Sale later this month.
