Klawervlei’s exciting and popular young stallion Twice Over is certainly from a red hot family.
His close relative American Anthem, winner of a pair of graded races in 2017, is currently one of the top three-year-old sprinters in North America, while another top-class racehorse related to Twice Over is four time group winner Time Test. The latter ran second in Saturday’s G1 Fourstardave Handicap at Saratoga and has now been placed three times at G1 level.
Time Test’s own sister Time Chaser is also adding further gloss to this remarkable family. Trained by Roger Charlton, Time Chaser made it three wins from as many outings when landing a handicap over 2000m at Sandown on Thursday.
Time Test and Time Chaser are out of the G1 Criterium de Saint-Cloud winner Passage Of Time, who, like Twice Over, is out of a daughter of the Blushing Groom mare Quandary.
Current US turf star Antonoe (whose dam resides at Klawervlei) is another star from this family –the four-year-old’s wins this season including the G1 Just A Game Stakes and she was also a close up third in the recent G1 Diana Stakes.
Four time G1 winner and European champion Twice Over made a smashing start with his first runners last season including Cape champion, and undefeated G1 Tsogo Sun Gold Medallion winner, Sand And Sea and he is fully booked this season.
