Ascot Stud’s resident Galileo horse Global View had a notable double at Turffontein on Thursday where his daughter Global Thunder winning the second race on the card and son Global Impact victorious in the fifth race on Thursday.
Fourth on her only previous start, two-year-old Global Thunder built on that effort with an impressive performance on Thursday.
The Corrie Lensley trained filly romped home, under Gavin Lerena, to win the Racing240 For Racing. For You Maiden Juvenile Plate (Fillies) (1000m) by more than three and a quarter lengths.
Bred by Beaumont Stud, Global Thunder is out of the Kahal mare Reine Tonnerre.
Global View is also the sire of Global Impact who caught the eye when romping home to a facile maiden win at Turffontein.
The Paul Matchett trained three-year-old turned Thursday’s Book A Table For Classic Day4 March Call 0116811796 Maiden Plate (1600m) into a one horse racing, with Global Impact running out a near four and a half length winner.
Bred by the Missing U Syndicate, Global Impact had finished fourth on debut before finishing seventh in the WSB Highveld Winter Juvenile Stakes last season.
