The much missed Lancaster Bomber struck twice on Thursday, with Lancaster Bomber son Red Bomber and daughter Runway Bomb both winning at Turffontein on Thursday.
A brilliant winner on debut, the Johan Janse Van Vuuren trained Red Bomber made it two wins from just three starts when he landed Thursday’s www.soccer6.co.za Juvenile Plate over 1450 metres.
Under a great ride from Gavin Lerena, Red Bomber dug down deep to best runner up Hotarubi and win by a head.
Bred by Lammerskraal Stud, the very smart looking Red Bomber is out of the Jet Master mare Red Flame.
The Lancaster Bomber colt was a R450 000 purchase from the 2022 National Yearling Sale.
Lancaster Bomber came up with his 14th first crop winner when his two-year-old daughter Runway Bomb claimed Thursday’s TAB Telebet 0861 000 822 Maiden Plate over 1200 metres.
Making her fourth career start, and her first in Gauteng, the Tony Peter trained Runway Bomb stayed on gamely to get off the mark with a just over half length win.
Bred by Drakenstein Stud, Runway Bomb is out of the Var mare Schiffer.
