Maine Chance Farms’ sensational sire Vercingetorix proved the star attraction at the 2023 KZN Yearling Sale.
Not only did Vercingetorix supply the KZN Sale’s top lot, the champion son of Silvano ended up as the Leading Sire by Aggregate at this year’s KZN Yearling Sale.

Responsible for the top-priced lot sold at the 2022 KZN Yearling Sale, Vercingetorix once again stole the show at this year’s KZN auction.
His Boland Stud consigned son (Lot 62) was knocked down to Brett Crawford for R750 000 at Thursday’s sale.

The sales topper is out of the Jet Master mare Allez Afrique, which makes the colt a full-brother to G2 Umkhomazi Stakes/G3 Godolphin Barb Stakes victor African Warrior.

Another colt by Vercingetorix was knocked down to Azzie Racing for R625 000 at the 2023 KZN Yearling Sale with Vercingetorix colt Sea Wolf sold for R550 000 at Thursday’s auction.

Vercingetorix had eight yearlings on sale all of whom sold for an aggregate of R3.475 million, with Vercingetorix yearlings averaging R434 375.

The former G1 Jebel Hatta winner also enjoyed feature race success on Friday, when Vercingetorix four-year-old Phedra victorious in the Listed East Cape Breeders Stakes at Fairview.
