Moutonshoek’s well bred young stallion The United States, whose first foals are arriving now, is on course to cover another high class book of mares in his second season at stud this year.

His mates this season include a pair of G1 winners in the form of Count The Money (Woolavington 2000) and Gilded Minaret (Golden Slipper), as well as a number of well performed stakes winners and producers.
The dams of G1 Rising Sun Gold Challenge hero Undercover Agent (Winter Oaks winner Secret Risk) and the likes of graded stakes winners Eighth Wonder, Goodtime Gal, and Triptique are also among the mares in The United States’ book this year –as is Kiss For Kate –the G1 placed dam of lightning fast Umngeni Handicap winner Kissable.
Stakes winning mares booked to The United States this year include Cymbeline, Esterel, Follow The Piper, Kitti Cat, Rivulet, Maleficent, Mambonick, Smangaliso, Tassie Belle, Waywest Goddess, while the very smart Silvano mare Arissa is another high class performer to visit Moutonshoek’s millionaire this year.
Other high credentialed mares visiting the son of Galileo in 2018 include Bretton Woods (an own sister to July winning champion Big City Life), Dashing Scarlet –a winning daughter of champion Dancer’s Daughter, the stakes placed Holly’s Vision (who is from the family of champions Dog Wood and Enchanted Garden), Red Kaschka- dam of millionaire Red Barrel, G1 winner and sire Potala Palace’s half-sister Right And Ready, and the stakes placed Sweet Aria.
Breeders from all over the country have supported The United States, with many of South Africa’s top farms sending mares this season.

Winner of the G1 Ranvet Stakes and three other group races, The United States banked over $2 000 000 during his racing career which saw the handsome chestnut compete against such outstanding performers as Winx, Humidor, Le Romain, and Turn Me Loose.
He is a son of the world’s greatest stallion Galileo, who recently was represented by his 73rd individual G1 winner, and who has now sired as many top level winners as his own legendary sire Sadler’s Wells.
Galileo, whose offspring this year include the G1 winners Forever Together, Flag Of Honour and Kew Gardens, is also enjoying considerable success as a sire of sires, with his successful stallion sons including such as Teofilo, New Approach (sire of 2018 Investec Derby hero Masar), Frankel and rising stars Intello and Nathaniel (sire of Enable).
The United States is a full-brother to dual G1 winner Hydrangea, as well as to recent G1 Moyglare Stud Stakes third Hermosa. The latter holds entries in both the G3 Weld Park Stakes (due to be run at Naas on September 30th) and October 12th’s G1 bet365 Fillies Mile.
