The Drakenstein Stud based champion Futura has made a good start to his stud career and the former Horse Of The Year came up with two more winners at Kenilworth on Tuesday.

Futura’s son Aus Bob, trained, like his sire, by Justin Snaith, made it two wins from just five starts when he won Tuesday’s second race, the Tabonline.co.za MR 71 Handicap (1600m), in convincing style.
Under former champion jockey S’Manga Khumalo, the three-year-old stayed on gamely to score by three-parts of a length.
Aus Bob, who was bred by Drakenstein, has won two of his last three starts, with the Futura colt having finished third on his previous start.
Out of the Captain Al mare Blue Dawn, Aus Bob was a R200 000 buy from the 2020 Cape Premier Yearling Sale.
Futura’s second success on Tuesday came when his Justin Snaith trained son Impact won the final race on the card by half a length.
The Drakenstein Stud bred colt, who is out of the Philanthropist mare Gibowski, had finished fourth last time out and was breaking his maiden at the fourth attempt.
Also sire of promising three-year-old Xavion, a fast finishing third in the recent G3 Cape Classic, Futura has three lots on this week’s CTS Ready To Run Sale, and a further two lots on the November Two Year Old Sale.
