Tuesday double for Querari

4th December 2024

Maine Chance Farms’ inform stallion Querari came up with a pair of winners at Turffontein on Tuesday.
Not only did Querari gelding Thunderbird win the first race on Tuesday, but Querari colt Choisaanada won the sixth race at Turffontein.
Three-year-old Choisaanada stamped himself a colt to follow when he won Tuesday’s Racing 240 For Racing. For You MR 98 Open Handicap (1400m) in fine style.
Trained by Erico Verdonese, Choisaanada powered home, under Marco Van Rensburg, to beat the previously unbeaten Grey Jet by a length.
The progressive Choisaanada has won two of four starts and he looks well above average.
Bred by Shadwell Stud, Choisaanada is out of the Redoute’s Choice mare Musaanada, and is bred on the same Querari/Redoute’s Choice cross as last season’s G3 World Pool Gold Cup winner Master Redoute.
Choisaanada was a R180 000 buy from the 2023 National Yearling Sale.
His sire Querari is also the sire of Thunderbird, who got off the mark when he won Tuesday’s 4Racing Welcomes You Work Riders Maiden Plate over 1000 metres.

South Africa’s Leading Sire of 2YOs of 2018-2019, Querari has once again made a flying start with his two-year-olds this season. His early winners include the impressive debut winners Black Cheetah and Siesta Sunset.
