Two out of three for Jackson filly

20th December 2018

Ridgemont Highlands’ promising stallion Jackson looks to have a smart sort on his hands in the form of his first crop daughter Heaven’s Embrace.

Jackson

The latter, trained, like her sire, by Brett Crawford, made it two wins from just three outings when scoring a courageous win in the eighth, and final race, at Kenilworth on Wednesday.

A good winner on debut, Heaven’s Embrace showed tremendous heart when squeezing through a gap under jockey Greg Cheyne to lift the spoils in a handicap over 1600 metres.

Heaven’s Embrace, who was bred by Highlands, is rated highly by her trainer, who rues the fact some of the Cape feature races may have come a bit soon for his talented three-year-old.

The talented filly is one of several classy performers to have emerged from triple G1 winner Jackson’s first crop, with others including the G1 filly Can You Feel It, G3 Cape Nursery third Mr Crumford and Heaven’s Embrace’s very smart stable mate Water Spirit.

The latter impressed when romping home to score a facile maiden win at the second time of asking and has done little wrong in three starts.

Jackson’s sire Dynasty

Jackson, a son of outstanding stallion Dynasty from the family of Smart Strike, was a superb racehorse whose wins included the 2012 G1 Investec Cape Derby, 2012 G1 Daily News 2000 and 2013 G1 Champions Cup.

He has two lots on offer at the 2019 Cape Premier Yearling Sale –

Lot 65 –a ¾ brother to G3 Cape Nursery runner up Amber Palace from the immediate family of G1 Preakness Stakes winner Exaggerator

Lot 130 –a ½ brother to 5 winners and to the dam of high class sprinter Pinnacle Peak
