Vercingetorix son makes it four in a row

24th May 2024

Maine Chance Farms (Pty) Ltd’s star sire Vercingetorix looks to have yet another classy sort to his name in the form of Joker Man.
The latter made it four wins in a row when he won at Turffontein on Thursday afternoon.
Under Gavin Lerena, the progressive three-year-old went out to make the running in Thursday’s For Hospitality Bookings Call 011 681 1796 Middle Stakes (1600m).
The Johan Janse-trained Joker Man quickened up strongly and pulled away to win by just over a length and three quarters.
Bred by Narrow Creek Stud, Joker Man has now won four of just seven starts and he looks to be an exciting prospect.
Joker Man, who is out of the Western Winter mare Isabelle, was a R300 000 purchase from the 2022 August Two Year Old Sale.
His sire Vercingetorix, currently runner-up on the South African General Sires List, is having another wonderful season in 2023-2024 with his flagbearers including such graded stakes winners as Cymric, Double Grand Slam, Little Ballerina, and Rascallion.
The champion son of six-time South African Champion Sire Silvano has five lots on offer at the upcoming Cape Racing Winter Yearling Sale, and five yearlings on sale at the KZN Yearling Sale.
