Visionaire filly lifts Fillies Mile

20th Nov 2022

Gelykfontein Stud’s resident Grand Slam horse Visionaire was the toast of Turffontein racecourse on Friday evening when his promising daughter Emirate Gina ran out a convincing winner of Friday night’s feature race, the G3TAB4Racing Fillies Mile (1600m) on the Standside Track.
Trained by Roy Magner, three-year-old Emirate Gina came into Friday’s night feature race having won her last two races in a row.
Emirate Gina confirmed herself as among the best three-year-old fillies in training in Gauteng with a smooth win in Friday night’s Fillies Mile. Under a well judged ride from Raymond Danielson, Emirate Gina came with a sustained late run which saw the Visionaire daughter power away to score a deceptively easy three-parts of a length win.
Bred by Lammerskraal Stud, Emirate Gina has now won three of her eight starts.
Out of the Dubai Destination mare Dubai Gina, Emirate Gina was a R250 000 buy from the 2021 National Yearling Sale.
She is the ninth stakes winner Visionaire, whose other notable daughters include G1 Wilgerbosdrift SA Fillies Guineas winner Takingthepeace and G2 Wilgerbosdrift Gauteng Fillies Guineas winner Heaps Of Fun.

Visionaire, whose progeny also include champion Good Traveller, has two lots on offer at this week’s November Two Year Old Sale -a colt (Lot 18) from the family of G1 winners Nania, Red Ray and Set Afire, and a filly (Lot 133) whose G3 winning granddam is a full-sister to G1 Empress Club Stakes winner Legality.
