Wednesday double for Master Of My Fate

29th October 2026

Varsfontein Stud’s top-class stallion Master Of My Fate has been in fine form once again this season, and the son of Jet Master was at it again at Hollywoodbets Durbanville on Wednesday.
Master Of My Fate came up with two winners on Wednesday with his son Major Master victorious in race four and daughter Wehaveasituation winning the seventh race.

Classy gelding Major Master, runner up in both the G3 Ownpay Peninsula Handicap and Listed Tote Stakes Darley Arabian last season, defied 64kgs when he won Wednesday’s Blue Hen Racing Syndicate Class 3 (1400m).
Trained by Candice Bass, the five-year-old powered home, under an inform Aldo Domeyer, to win the 1400m contest a shade cosily by just under half a length. Wednesday’s winner looks set for a bright Cape Summer Season!

Major Master, who looks just like his sire, has won six of 19 starts for owners Drakenstein Stud, Kalinga and Neville Isdell.

Bred by Lammerskraal Stud, Major Master is a full-brother to G3 Prix du Cap third Maledimo and three-parts brother in blood to the brilliant Anotherdanceforme. His dam, the Western Winter mare Maxixe, won five times and ran second in the Listed Milkwood Stakes.

Master Of My Fate is also the sire of Wehaveasituation, winner of Wednesday’sLucky Fish Turf D Stakes (1600m).
Under Andrew Fortune, the Patrick Kruyer trained six-year-old ran on strongly to get up close home and win comfortably by a long neck.

Bred by Rick Achmat, who owns the mare in partnership with the RAR Syndicate, Mr C Harris, and Mr A Mahlangu, Wehaveasitation has won five of her 32 outings.

The mare, who is out of the twice winning Captain Al mare Captain’s Catch, is bred on the same Master Of My Fate/Captain Al cross as graded stakes winners Basadi Faith and Pretty Betty.

Currently second on the South African General Sires premiership (and responsible for recent Listed TAB Casino Algoa Cup winner Anotherdanceforme), Master Of My Fate and his relatives Erik The Red and Malmoos are responsible for four of the 12 runners in Saturday’s G3 TAB Starling Stakes.
