Ridgemont Highlands’ exciting young sire Rafeef came up with his fifth winner in three days when the son of Redoute’s Choice came up with two winners at Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Wednesday.

Rafeef’s first success at Scottsville came when his Justin Snaith trained son Napoleon won the fifth race on the card, the Online Form Guide www.gallop.co.za Maiden Plate over 1750 metres.
Under Anton Marcus, the gelded three-year-old pulled clear of his rivals to score by nearly a length and a half.
Bred by Miss van der Merwer, the imposing Napolen has now won or placed in four of his five starts to date, with the son of Rafeef having finished third in his two starts prior to Wednesday’s win.
Out of the Silvano mare Jambalaya, Napoleon was a R200 000 buy from the 2020 Cape Premier Yearling Sale.
His sire Rafeef came up with another winner on Wednesday when Rafeef filly October Song captured the eighth race for Michael Miller and Serino Moodley.
In a thrilling finish, the three-year-old dug down deeply to win by over half a length, while scoring over 1200 metres.
Bred by Tinus Gericke, the well bred October Song has now won twice from just five starts.
South Africa’s Leading First Season Sire last season, Rafeef is currently heading the country’s Leading Second Season Sires List, with his flagbearers headed by his graded stakes winning sons Aragosta and William Robertson.
