Varsfontein Stud’s popular resident sire Master Of My Fate had a good few days over the past weekend, when he was responsible for a trio of winners.
The former G2 Peninsula Handicap/G2 Premier Trophy winner was responsible for two winners at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Friday night, and followed that up with another winner at the same course on Sunday.

Master Of My Fate’s daughter La Duchesse got off the mark when scoring a courageous, neck win over 1600m for trainer Paul Gadsby on Friday night when victorious in Friday’s first race.
Bred by the Cheveley Stud, La Duchesse had been second or third in four of her five previous outings.

Master Of My Fate’s second winner on Friday night came when his daughter Zagara vanquished another Master Of My Fate filly, Silva Magic, into second place when victorious over 1900m at Hollywoodbets Greyville.
Bred by Varsfontein Stud, the regally bred, and lightly raced, Zagara has now won twice from just seven starts for trainer Lezeanne Forbes.

The inform sire’s third and final winner over the past weekend came when Master Of My Fate gelding Clouds Of Witness made all, as tote favourite, to win over 2000m on Sunday for trainer Gary Rich. Bred by Varsfontein, the lightly raced four-year-old has now won three times, and placed a further five, from just 11 outings.
In winning Sunday’s eighth race, Clouds Of Witness accounted for some smart performers, with his beaten rivals including the likes of Michael Roberts Handicap hero Wealthy, G3 Caradoc Gold winner Just Cruised In and G1 Thekwini Stakes runner up Railtrip.

A son of champions Jet Master and Promisefrommyheart, Master Of My Fate made a great start to his stud career with his first two crops producing such as millionaire, and Guineas winner, Twist Of Fate, G2 SA Nursery winner Basadi Faith, Derby Trial victor Gift For The Gap, Kenyan champion Silverstone Air and the smart filly Driving Miss Daisy.
