Drakenstein Stud’s exciting stallion What A Winter is having another tremendous season, and the triple Equus Champion looks to have a potentially smart sort to his name in the form of the Peter de Beyer bred two-year-old filly Sarah.

The latter made it two wins in a row, and two wins from just four outings, when romping home to score a four length win in a juvenile plate for fillies over 1200m at Turffontein on Saturday.
Trained by Paul Peter, Sarah left last out debut winner Mawsool in her wake as the filly strolled home, under jockey Warren Kennedy, to win as she liked.

A R80 000 buy from the 2018 April Yearling Sale , Sarah is one of six juvenile winners for What A Winter already this season, with others including the brilliant recent debut winner Fly Away (also trained by Paul Peter).

South Africa’s Leading First Crop Sire of 2016-2017, What A Winter’s star representatives this season include G1 Bidvest Majorca Stakes winner and millionaire Clouds Unfold, Ibhayi Stakes hero Fabian, and Listed Bauhinia Handicap runner up Pretty Penny.
