15th G1 winner for Dynasty

16th December 2018

Ridgemont Highlands’ outstanding sire Dynasty was represented by his second G1 Cape Fillies Guineas winner in three years, when his unbeaten 3yo daughter Front And Centre won the World Sports Betting sponsored race at Kenilworth on Saturday.

In the process, the Highlands bred Front And Centre became a fifteenth individual G1 winner for her outstanding sire.

Dynasty’s previous G1 Cape Fillies Guineas win came courtesy of subsequent Equus Champion Just Sensual who won the race in 2016.

Front And Centre, who is trained, like Dynasty’s outstanding sons Futura and Jackson, by Brett Crawford, was imperious in Saturday’s victory with the impressive bay striding clear under jockey Anton Marcus to register a comprehensive one and a half length win over the progressive Silvano’s Pride, with recent G2 Western Cape Fillies Championship winner Clouds Unfold 2.25 lengths away in third.

Now unbeaten in four outings, Front And Centre, who has now earned nearly R800 000 in stakes, has firmly established herself as one of the best of her generation.

Dynasty’s G1 winner Eyes Wide Open

She is one of several high class 3yos representing Dynasty this season with others including G2 Dingaans runner up Thanksgiving, R600 000 plus earner Majestic Mozart, the promising Bunker Hunt –a winner of three of only four outings, and the unbeaten Belgarion.

Dynasty went close to claiming another graded feature at Kenilworth on Saturday when his sons Made To Conquer and Eyes Wide Open ran second and third respectively in the G2 WSB Premier Trophy over 1800 metres.

Long established as one of South Africa’s elite stallions, Dynasty’s 11 strong draft on offer at January’s Cape Premier Yearling Sale includes a colt (Lot 13) out of G1 winner Bambina Stripes, a filly (Lot 75) out of a G3 winning daughter of Street Cry, and a filly (Lot 156) out of G1 Thekwini Stakes winner Roxanne –whose immediate relatives include the Dynasty sired Horse Of The Year Legislate.
