Former Equus Champion Sprinter What A Winter was the toast of Turffontein racecourse on Saturday, when the four time G1 winning son of Western Winter supplied a pair of graded stakes winners.
Not only did What A Winter filly Miss Cool down male rivals when victorious in Saturday’s G2 Heineken SA Nursery, What A Winter filly Winter Smoke claimed her second graded race win when landing Saturday’s G2 Racing 240 Camelllia Stakes (1160m).

Victorious in the 2020 G3 World Sports Betting Magnolia Handicap, four-year-old Winter Smoke picked up her biggest win thus far when storming home to win Saturday’s Camellia Stakes.
Under Ryan Munger, the Ashley Fortune trained filly hit the line full of running to win convincingly by three-parts of a length.

Now a five time winner, Winter Smoke was bred by Mr Fitzgerald.

Out of the Cataloochee mare Chatanooga Chuchu, Winter Smoke was a R150 000 buy from the 2019 National Yearling Sale.

Her sire What A Winter is having another tremendous season in 2021-2022 with the multiple Equus Champion’s other flagbearers including the aforementioned Miss Cool, Listed East Cape Guineas winner Safari Blue and G1 Pongracz Cape Flying Championship runner up Mr Cobbs.
