Ridgemont Highlands’ four times Equus Outstanding Stallion Dynasty looks to have a very strong hand in a number of feature races to be run on Sun Met day on January 26th.
The former July winner and Horse Of The Year has lively contenders in all of the CTS 1600m, the G1 Cape Derby, G1 Bidvest Majorca Stakes, G1 Sun Met and G2 New Turf Carriers Stayers.
The well bred Majestic Mozart,a R550 000 buy from the 2017 CTS Ready To Run Sale, will represent Dynasty in the rich CTS 1600 on Met day.
The 3yo colt, bred on the same Dynasty/Theatrical cross as G2 Premier Trophy winner Dynamic, has already earned more than R600 000 with Majestic Mozart’s past efforts including a runner up finish in the 2018 Lanzerac Ready To Run Stakes.
His sire Dynasty will be looking for a remarkable fifth G1 Cape Derby win this year, and will be represented by all of G2 Dingaans runner up Thanksgiving, the promising Bunker Hunt, G3 BMW Politician Stakes third Belgarion, and the well bred Knights Templar in the 2019 Cape Derby. Dynasty’s champion son Irish Flame will also be represented by a runner (Perpetual Flame) while Dynasty’s G2 Ipi Tombe Challenge winner Demanding Lady is the dam of Derby starter Charles.
The champion has a pair of massive runners in the G1 Bidvest Majorca Stakes this year, with Dynasty’s unbeaten G1 WSB Cape Fillies Guineas Front And Centre and the latter’s paternal half-sister Lady In Black both looking to be leading contenders for this R1 000 000 feature.
Dynasty has a pair of runners in the R5 000 000 Sun Met –namely 2018 G1 Vodacom Durban July runner up Made To Conquer and multiple G1 winner Eyes Wide Open, while his son Let It Rain will be bidding to win the G2 New Turf Carriers Stayers for a second year running. That Highlands bred millionaire will be joined in the Stayers by his paternal half-sister Dynasty’s Blossom (also bred by Highlands).
The champion son of Fort Wood is enjoying another fine season in 2018-2019 with his top performers including the G1 winner Front And Centre, impressive G3 Three Troikas Stakes winner Storm Destiny and Victory Moon Stakes second Sabina’s Dynasty.
