Ascot Stud’s resident stallion Global View came up with an eye-catching debut winner on Thursday.
His three-year-old daughter Abbey’s View made the perfect start to her racing career when she won the 4Racing Welcomes You Work Riders Maiden Plate (F and M) (1200m) at the Vaal.
Trained by Tony Peter, Abbey’s View unleashed a fine turn of foot that saw her fly up to score by a short neck.
Bred by Clifton Stud, Abbey’s View is out of the Fastnet Rock mare Athassel Abbey.
The filly was a R60 000 buy from the 2023 KZN Yearling Sale.
Her dual graded stakes winning sire Global View is also the sire of South Africa’s reigning Horse Of The Year Dave The King. A runner in the third race at Turffontein on Saturday, Dave The King holds an entry in the 2025 G1 World Sports Betting Cape Town Met.
