Debut winner for Rafeef

10th September 2025

Ridgemont’s top-class sire Rafeef had an eye catching debut winner at Hollywoodbets Durbanville on Tuesday.
His three-year-old daughter Reet Petite made the perfect start to her career when she won the first race on the card.

Under Richard Fourie, the James Crawford trained filly stormed home to land the Hollywoodbets Durbanville Welcomes You Maiden Plate (F and M) (1250m) by nearly half a length.

Bred by Ridgemont Highlands, who own her in partnership with Devin Heffer, Reet Petite is out of the Daylami mare Super Elegant. Tuesday’s winner is a full-sister to the useful Enchanting Choice.

Her G1 Computaform Sprint winning sire went close to having a double on Tuesday with Rafeef filly Joueur De Flute finishing a close second in the sixth race at Hollywoodbets Durbanville.
Rafeef had an excellent season in 2024-2025. Last season, Rafeef was responsible for six black type winners in South Africa, including G1 Computaform Sprint winner William Robertson.

The son of legendary stallion Redoute’s Choice has nine lots on offer at next month’s Two Year Old Sale.
