Fourth first crop winner for Marchfield

17th Jul 2017

Moutonshoek’s dual Canadian Champion Marchfield was represented by his fourth individual winner (from his first South African crop) when his son Endofmarch romped to victory at Kenilworth on Saturday.

A P Indy

Bred by the Riverton Stud, the Candice Bass-Robinson trained colt (backed to start a 17-20 favourite) simply outclassed his rivals, with Endofmarch running out a facile four length winner of the 1600m contest.

Ridden to victory by Aldo Domeyer, Endofmarch has now won or placed in four of his five outings and he won’t stop here.

His sire Marchfield’s previous local first crop winners include Spring Poetry, Hopeful and Tundra Taita.

A classic winner and millionaire, Marchfield has now been represented by ten first crop runners who have won or finished in the money.

The son of champion sire A P Indy is strongly represented at next month’s National Two Year Old Sale with Marchfield’s 15 lots including a filly out of a granddaughter of champion Fanfreluche (Lot 24), a filly from the family of US Horse Of The Year Lady’s Secret (Lot 54), a colt out of a half-sister to G1 Summer Cup winner Ingleside (Lot 77), and a filly out of a half-sister to G1 winner On Her Toes (Lot 132).
