Ascot Stud’s inform stallion Global View continues to churn out winners at a rate of knots, and the son of Galileo was at it again when Global View came up with two winners at Fairview on Friday.
Global View runners finished first and second in the first race on Friday. Double Trade beat her paternal half-sister String Of Lights into second spot in Friday’s Welcome To Nelson Mandela Bay Work Riders Maiden Plate (F&M) over 1000 metres.
Trained by Jacques Strydom, the three-year-old Double Trade kept finding in the closing stages to shed her maiden by a neck.
The filly, bred by Ascot Stud, is out of the Silvano mare Global Trade.
Global View’s second success on Friday came when his inform son Coastal Path won the Racehorse Owners Association Classified Stakes (1200m) for Alan Greeff and Richard Fourie.
Winner of his previous start, the Ascot Stud bred five-year-old raced up with the speed in Friday’s race and stayed on strongly to score a narrow victory.
Coastal Path, who is out of the Fort Wood mare Coastal Reign, has now won four times.
His sire Global View could be well represented in upcoming feature races, with his champion son Dave The King among the entries for the G1 Betway Summer Cup. Another son, Global Ally, holds an entry for the upcoming Listed Betway Algoa Cup.
