Drakenstein Stud’s four time G1 winning stallion Futura has made a very promising start to his stud career, with Futura’s early runners including a very smart sort in the form of Dindingwe.

The latter made it three wins from four starts when romping to a facile two and a half length win in the Listed Breeders Fillies Mile at Borrowdale on Saturday.
Trained by Kirk Swanson, the Ndoro Stud bred Dindingwe won the first two starts of her career, including the Champion Juvenile Stakes, before finishing second last time out over 1200m.

The filly is out of the Jallad mare Miss Delish.

Dindingwe joins the likes of G2 Durban Golden Horseshoe winner Nourbese, G2 Zulu Kingdom Golden Slipper third Jasmine, and impressive debut winner Fantastical, as promising early sorts to have emerged from Horse Of The Year Futura’s first crop.

This crop also includes Supreme Dance, who caught the eye when finishing second on debut at Turffontein on Saturday.

One of the very best sons of leading local sire Dynasty, Futura had a colt make R500 000 at the recently concluded Emperors Palace National 2YO Sale, and the champion has a further three lots on the upcoming CTS Ready To Run, Unbroken 2 Year Old & Mixed Sale.
