The Alchemy’s promising young resident sire Gitano Hernando looks to have a really smart sort on his hands in the form of Brave Nomad.

The latter, who was bred by the Beaumont Stud, made it two wins from as many outings, when storming home to late to score over 1200m at the Vaal on Thursday.

Brave Nomad, who was promoted to first when making his debut, is trained by champion trainer Sean Tarry.

He is from the first crop of his sire Gitano Hernando, as is the very smart stakes filly Whose That Girl and the smart Tanami, who has been entered in the G2 Daisy Fillies Guineas.

To date, Gitano Hernando has been represented by 22 first crop runners to either win or finish in the money.

The globetrotting dual G1 winner, who hails from the same male line as Silvano and whose third dam won the 1000 Guineas, is from a superb female line with his relatives including the G1 winners Toormore, G1 sire Citidancer, French classic winner Toro and champion 2YO Admire Cozzene.

Gitano Hernando traces back directly in female line to the great mare Mirawala, whose descendants include champion English sire Tehran.
