Varsfontein Stud’s successful resident stallion Judpot is the sire of Coral Fever, winner of the 2018 The Premier’s Champions Challenge.

The latter picked up three awards at Wednesday’s night Racing Association Awards, which were held in the Aquanaut Room at Turffontein.
Coral Fever, who was bred by the Ascot Stud, was named Horse Of The Season, Champion Middle Distance Horse and Champion Older Male.
The gelding enjoyed an excellent season this year, with the Robbie Sage trained Coral Fever not only winning the Champions Challenge, but also landing the G2 Colorado King Stakes and finishing third in the G1 Sansui Summer Cup. He was also second in the G2 Hawaii Stakes and G3 Victory Moon Stakes, and third in the G3 London News Stakes.
Bred on the same Judpot/Rich Man’s Gold cross as Daisy Guineas second Sniper Shot, Coral Fever has won six of his 20 outings and has earnings of R3 445 650 to his credit.
His blue blooded sire Judpot (whose relatives include 2018 G1 Investec Derby likely runner Study Of Man) will be represented by a trio of yearlings at the 2018 KZN Yearling Sale.
