Drakenstein Stud’s champion sire Trippi, fresh off another fine season himself in 2020-2021, could make his mark in Friday’s G1 Longines Kentucky Oaks at Churchill Downs.

His maternal grandson Liam’s Map (by Unbridled’s Song) is set to be represented by a runner in Friday’s Kentucky Oaks -historically one of the most important races of the year for three-year-old fillies in North America.
Liam’s Map filly Crazy Beautiful, a winner of three of her seven starts including the G2 Gulfstream Park Oaks, has drawn pole position four for the 2021 Kentucky Oaks.
Also runner up in the 2020 G1 Alcibiades Stakes (she was victorious in the Debutante Stakes at two), Crazy Beautiful will be ridden in the Oaks by Jose Ortiz.
Her G1 Woodward Stakes/Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile winning sire Liam’s Map (who is out of Trippi’s G3 Winning Colors Stakes winning daughter Miss Macy Sue) has had another fine year in 2021, with Liam’s Map currently fourth on North America’s Leading Turf Sires (by stakes) for 2021.
Liam’s Map is poised for a potentially lucrative weekend, with his top-class son Colonel Liam the leading contender for Saturday’s G1 Old Forester Bourbon Turf Classic at Churchill Downs.
His broodmare sire Trippi has had another stellar year in 2020-2021 with his flagbearers headed by G1 L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate winner Jet Dark and fellow graded stakes winners Crome Yellow and Mombela.
