Cheveley Stud’s home bred champion Legislate has an astonishing strike rate with his small first crop, and this strike rate improved even further when Legislate’s classy daughter So Flawless won the Listed WSB Sign Up Now Ladies Mile at Kenilworth on Saturday.

The 2022 Ladies Mile was a double triumph for Legislate, with another daughter, Veronica Mars, finishing second.

Bred by Sandown Stud, the Andre Nel trained So Flawless was given a well judged ride by Corne Orffer.
Orffer kept his mount off the pace for much of Saturday’s race, before bringing So Flawless with a sustained late run which saw the four-year-old power away to score by a length and a quarter.

Out of the Judpot mare Natural Beauty, So Flawless has now won four times in total, and was third in the 2021 Listed Breeders Guineas.

Her sire Legislate was responsible for just 23 registered foals in his first crop -but a remarkable six of these are stakes winners!
Stars of this crop include G2 Glorious Goodwood Premier Trophy winner, and G1 Hollywoodbets Durban July contender, Hoedspruit, G3 Flamboyant Stakes queen Zimbaba and recent G3 Hollywoodbets Dolphins Cup Trial hero Airways Law.

Legislate’s first crop has produced a remarkable 21 winners from 23 foals, with just one of this crop failing to reach the racetrack.
