Legislate filly wins Fillies Guineas

2nd May 2026

Cheveley Stud’s home bred champion Legislate looks to have come up with a likely Equus Champion in the form of three-year-old filly Wish List.

The latter made it three graded wins in a row when she won the G2 World Sports Betting Fillies Guineas (1600m) at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Saturday.
Trained, like her sire, by Justin Snaith, Wish List came into Saturday’s contest off wins in both the G1 Cartier Paddock Stakes and G1 Lucky Fish Cape Derby.

The Legislate daughter was sent off a 11-10 favourite for Saturday’s R500 000 contest and duly obliged.
Under a shrewd ride from Andrew Fortune, Wish List run on strongly down the inside of the track, before going on to split rivals and win a shade cosily by a long neck.
Bred by Maine Chance Farms, Wish List races for Nancy Hossack and Jonathan Bloch.

Out of the Silvano mare Wind Chill, Saturday’s winner was a R700 000 buy from the 2024 National Yearling Sale.

Bred on the same Legislate/Silvano cross as this season’s G1 World Sports Betting Cape Town Met runner up Legal COunsel, Wish List has won four of nine starts for earnings of R2 023 738.

Her four time G1 winning sire Legislate is enjoying a wonderful season in 2025-2026, with the son of Dynasty’s offspring having earned more than R5.698 million this season.
From the same female line as this season’s graded stakes winners Get Up, Malmesbury Missile and Tin Pan Alley, Legislate is also responsible for this season’s promising two-year-old Lady Nancy.
