Varsfontein Stud’s exciting young sire Master Of My Fate has made a tremendous start to his stud career and is currently South Africa’s Leading First Crop Sire by winners.

The regally bred son of Jet Master was once again in the news over the weekend, with a pair of sons catching the eye at Kenilworth.

Master Of My Fate sons Twist Of Fate and Lucky Dancer made it a 1-2 finish for their sire when dominating the finish to a juvenile plate over 1200m at Kenilworth on Saturday.
Bred by the Favour Stud, the progressive Twist Of Fate ran on smartly to register a two and a half length win over paternal half-brother Lucky Dancer. Both colts are trained by Joey Ramsden.

Twist Of Fate, a bargain R20 000 buy from the 2017 March Yearling Sale, has now won two of four outings, and has placed in his other two races.

He is one of five first crop winners for his G2 Premier Trophy/G2 Peninsula Handicap winning sire Master Of My Fate, whose other first crop winners include the very impressive recent debut winner Goliath Heron.

Understandably, Master Of My Fate proved popular at last week’s April Yearling Sale,  and ended the two day sale as second top stallion by aggregate. His 13 yearlings grossed R1 255 000.

The magnificent son of Jet Master has 25 yearlings on offer at the 2018 Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale, including a colt out of a stakes winning sister to multiple G1 winner Snowdance (Lot 67), a filly out of G2 Fillies Championship second Highly Decorated (Lot 165), a ¾ brother to G1 Champions Cup winner Master Plan (Lot 230) and a half-brother to Charity Mile hero Bezanova (Lot 344).
