The regally bred son of Distorted Humor is the sire of the promising two-year-old Marco Polo, who caught the eye when winning on debut at Durbanville on Saturday.

Bred by the Riverton Stud, the gelded Marco Polo defied his long starting price with a fast finishing score, when he got up to win by 0.2 of a length over 1250 metres.

Marco Polo is the fourth juvenile winner this season for his sire, whose other promising juveniles in 2018-2019 include Listed Tattersalls Summer Juvenile Stakes winner Miss Honey and Storm Bird Stakes third place getter Look To The Sky.

His sire Pathfork is a half-brother to current star US 3yo War Of Will, who will be bidding for a third consecutive graded victory when he lines up in the G2 Twinspires.com Louisiana Derby at the Fair Grounds this Saturday.
A son of War Front, War Of Will has already earned nearly $500 000 in prize money, with his previous wins including both the G2 Risen Star and G3 Lecomte Stakes.

Also the sire of graded stakes winners Mighty High, Red Chesnut Road and My Friend Lee, Pathfork has seven lots on offer at April’s National Yearling Sale –including a half-brother (Lot 28) to exported G2 Gauteng Guineas/Dingaans winner Monks Hood, and a half-sister (Lot 150) to G2 Golden Horseshoe winner Barahin.
