Quasillo filly impresses on debut

10th January 2022

Maine Chance Farms’ well bred young stallion Quasillo came up with an impressive looking debut winner on Sunday, when his two-year-old daughter Ameena won impressively at Hollywoodbets Greyville.
Trained by Glen Kotzen, Ameena made a big impression in Sunday’s Download The Race Card Online www.goldcircle.co.za Maiden Juvenile Plate (Fillies).
Under Cole Dicken, the Quasillo filly pulled clear of her rivals to win first time out by nearly a length and three-quarters from Woodland Retreat. It was another near three lengths back to third place finisher Begonia.

Bred by Al Khayl Breeders (Pty) Ltd, Ameena is out of the Dynasty mare Sabaha.

She hails from the small second crop of Quasillo -whose first crop was headed by the stakes placed pair of Miss Putin and Quasiforsure.

A G3 winning half-brother to leading Cape sire Querari, Quasillo is the only son of outstanding racehorse and sire Sea The Stars at stud in South Africa. Sea The Stars, like Querari, sired by a son of Green Desert, is currently the sire of more than 80 stakes winners -headed by a tally of 16 G1 winners.

Quasillo has two lots on the Cape Premier Yearling Sale, and a single lot on the Cape Yearling Sale.
