The Leading Sire of 2YOs in South Africa last season, Maine Chance Farms’ resident sire Querari looks to have another high-class crop of two-year-olds in 2019-2020.
Winner of the 2010 G1 Premio Presidente della Repubblica, Querari was responsible for his seventh two-year-old winner this season when his son Invincabelle made an impressive winning debut at Kenilworth on Tuesday afternoon.
Bred by Dr Kritzinger, the Brett Crawford trained Invincabelle pulled well clear of his chasing rivals to register a fluent three and a quarter length debut win over 1100 metres on Tuesday.
Out of the Var mare Varsity Queen, Invincabelle was a R450 000 buy from last year’s Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale.
Querari, whose other eye catching juvenile winners this season include the impressive debut winner Hyde Park as well as the stakes placed fillies Herrin and Slalom Queen, is currently responsible for 40 black type horses.
