Maine Chance Farms’ promising young sire Querari, whose half-sister Quidura was beaten a head into second place in Saturday’s G1 Diana Stakes at Saratoga, has an exciting crop of two-year-olds representing him this season.
To date, Querari has been represented by 14 individual juvenile winners in 2016-2017, with his 2yo winners including Listed Dahlia Plate winner Joking, G1 SA Nursery third Wonderwall and stakes performers Made In Hollywood and Monks Hood.
The latter is a runner in Sunday’s G1 Premier’s Champion Stakes, while another promising juvenile by Querari, Spring Breeze, lines up in the same day’s G3 The Sunlife Vitamins Debutante over 1200m.
Querari is also responsible for the smart looking 2yo Angel’s Trumpet, who made it back to back wins when romping home to a geared down 1.75 length win in a juvenile plate for fillies over 1200m at Kenilworth on Saturday.
Angel’s Trumpet, who had broken her maiden by five lengths last time out, has now won or placed in four of just five outings and looks a smart sort in the making.
G1 winner and champion Querari, whose half-brother Quasillo will stand his first season at Klipdrif Stud in 2017, is currently South Africa’s fifth leading sire of 2yos by prize money, with his juveniles having earned in excess of R1.5 million this season.
He has six lots on offer at the 2017 National Two Year Old Sale.
