Avontuur Thoroughbred Farm’s successful stallion Oratorio enjoyed a good day at Durbanville, where his runners won the third and seventh races respectively.

Oratorio’s first win came with his three-year-old daughter Procrastination, who shed her maiden in convincing style when scoring a 1.25 length over 1000m to claim Durbanville’s third race.

Ridden to victory by Aldo Domeyer, the Andre Nel trained filly was making just her second start, with the promising Procrastination having finished second, on debut, to the very exciting filly Run Fox Run.
Bred by Joey Ramsden, the three-year-old is out of the Silvano mare Seal Of Approval.

Procrastination was a R250 000 buy from the 2017 Cape Premier Yearling Sale.

Oratorio’s second Durbanville win on Saturday came when his well-bred daughter Sacred Story shed her maiden when the Wilgerbosdrift & Mauritzfontein bred 3yo landed Saturday’s seventh race by a length and a quarter.
Trained by Dean Kannemeyer, and ridden to victory by Keagan De Melo, Sacred Story, fourth at her two previous outings, was a R140 000 buy from the 2017 National Two Year Old Sale.

A dual champion sire in Italy, and sire of more than 50 stakes winners the world over, triple G1 winner Oratorio has two fillies on offer at this month’s Cape Yearling Sale.
