Ascot Stud’s promising young Galileo horse Global View recorded his seventh first crop winner at Kenilworth on Sunday when his two-year-old daughter Tanzanite Queen saluted over 1200 metres.

Runner up in her two previous starts including the Klawervlei Farm Sale Graduate Race, the Glen Kotzen trained filly was sent off a 7-20 for Kenilworth’s first race and duly obliged.

Under jockey Morne Winaar, Tanzanite Queen simply drew clear to thrash well bred first-timer In Your Time by five and a quarter lengths, while getting off the mark at the third time of asking.

Bred by Klawervlei Stud, Tanzanite Queen is out of the Redoute’s Choice mare Blue Swift.

Sunday’s winner was a R150 000 buy from the 2019 Klawervlei Farm Sale.

Tanzanite Queen joins East Cape Nursery/Dahlia Plate winner Global Drummer, East Cape Nursery second Fireview and East Cape Fillies Nursery/Lady’s Slipper Stakes runner up Storyland as promising early winners to have emerged from Global View’s impressive first crop.
