ERIK THE RED
Bred on similar lines to the Captain Al sired Triple Crown winner Malmoos, he won six of ten starts including the G2 Cape Merchants, G2 Umkhomazi Stakes, and G3 Cape Of Good Hope Nursery. Also victorious in the Listed Somerset 1200 (a race won previously by champion sire Gimmethegreenlight), he is a son of multiple champion sire Captain Al and G1 Majorca Stakes winner Covenant, and his dam is a half-sister to champion Promisefrommyheart -the dam of top-class sire Master Of My Fate.
ELUSIVE FORT
A triple G1 winning champion, he has proved consistently successful since retiring to stud. Already sire of G1 winners Siren’s Call (dam of current high-class performer Sound Of Warning), Lauderdale and Out Of Your League, his current stars include G1 Vodacom Durban July/G1 WSB Cape Town Met winner Kommetdieding, and high-class fillies Big Burn and Sprinkles and the progressive Naval Guard, to name but a few. His progeny have already earned more than R8.7 million for 2021-2022 thus far.
ERUPT
By outstanding sire Dubawi (whose sons captured both the English and French 2000 Guineas this year), this dual G1 winner has made a tremendous start with his first two-year-olds this season headed by G3 Protea Stakes/Listed Storm Bird Stakes winner Karangetang and fellow G2 Heineken SA Nursery starter Set To Go. Out of a G3 winning daughter of Caerleon, he is from the family of champion sires Encosta De Lago, Flying Spur and Holy Roman Emperor.
FIRE AWAY
A high-class son of leading sire War Front (also sire of successful sires Declaration Of War and The Factor), he earned over $600 000 during a career which saw him land the G3 Dixie Stakes. A half-brother to G1 Belmont Derby winner, and G1 sire, Mr Speaker, his G2 placed dam is a daughter of unbeaten US champion, and US Broodmare Of The Year, Personal Ensign. His first yearlings on offer in 2022 have made up to R1 600 000.
FLOWER ALLEY
Winner of the G1 Travers Stakes, the son of Distorted Humor has enjoyed plenty of success as a sire in both North America and South Africa. His Northern Hemisphere runners include a Kentucky Derby winning champion in the form of I’ll Have Another and fellow G1 winners Lilacs And Lace, Bullards Alley and Lukes Alley, while his local runners include this season’s G1 Empress Club Stakes queen Princess Calla and fellow graded stakes winners Bold Fortune, FireAlley, and Maharanee as well as the classy Santa Therese.
FUTURA
A former Horse Of The Year, the four time G1 winning son of leading sire Dynasty made a tremendous start to his stud career, with his first crop producing the graded stakes winners Nourbese, Vihaan’s Pie and Warrior. His current crop of 3yos include such smart performers as Future Prince, Light Of The Moon and Xavion, while his two-year-olds this season include the very impressive Listed WSB Dahlia Plate winner Ekoria.
