Ridgemont Highlands’ red hot resident sire Rafeef came up with his tenth first crop winner when his two-year-old daughter Sweet The Sound romped home to a brilliant win at Fairview on Friday.

A close up second on her only previous start, the Alan Greeff trained Sweet The Sound was all the rage for Friday’s race and eventually jumped the 1-3 tote favourite for Friday’s WSB.co.za Maiden Juvenile Fillies (1200m).
Under Greg Cheyne, the Wilgerbosdrift owned Sweet The Sound romped home to win as she liked by three and three quarter lengths.
Bred by Wilgerbosdrift & Mauritzfontein, the Rafeef filly was an R80 000 buy from the 2020 National Sale.
South Africa’s Leading First Season for 2020-2021, Rafeef’s early winners also include BSA Cape Yearling Sale Cup heroine Mounia and impressive winners Darjeeling and Ravensthorpe.
Out of former South African Horse Of The Year National Colour, Rafeef has three lots on offer at the upcoming CTS Farm Yearling Sale and a further nine lots on the 2021 KZN Yearling Sale.
