The United States’ family continues to fire

27th November 2024

Moutonshoek’s inform stallion The United States is a member of one of the hottest families in the studbook. This family has had a great year, and their success continued this week.
Not only did The United States’ full-brother China Seas win in China recently, but his relatives Glaer and Rafale Design won in France on Tuesday.
Promising two-year-old Rafale Design made it two wins from three starts when he won at Deauville on Tuesday.
A son of Starspangledbanner, Rafale Design was off the mark over this course and distance earlier this month, and was cajoled along behind the leading trio throughout the early stages. Moving to the front with ease 300 metres from the line, the 7-10 favourite stretched away to record an impressive 7 1/2-length success.
The promising Rafale Design is out of the Montjeu mare Fashion Design -whose third dam is Mill Princess.
The latter, the fourth dam of The United States, also ranks as the fourth dam of Glaer. A son of Siyouni (whose sire Pivotal sired The United States’ outstanding dam Beauty Is Truth), Glaer, whose dam is Beauty Is Truth’s half-sister and G1 Poule d’Essai des Pouliches runner-up Glorious Sight, won the Listed Prix Lyphard -Polytrack Challenge at Deauville on Tuesday.
Descendants of Mill Princess have enjoyed plenty of success in 2024, with her numerous high-class descendants including 2024 G1 Prevagen Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf hero Henri Matisse.
