Klawervlei Stud’s former Equus Outstanding Stallion Count Dubois looks to have a smart sort to his name in the form of Hashtaggthemost.
Trained by Brett Crawford, Hashtaggthemost made it two wins from as many races when she scored a half length win over 1200m at Scottsville on Sunday.
Ridden by Billy Jacobson –who also steered her to victory when making her official racecourse debut, the four-year-old Count Dubois filly had previously won first time out when successful over 1000m at Greyville last month.
The versatile Klawervlei Stud bred filly has now won on both turf and polytrack.
Hashtaggthemost, who races for the Purple Tractor Syndicate, was produced by the Jet Master mare Atmospheric.
She is bred on the same Count Dubois/Jet Master cross as former Equus Champion (and fellow Klawervlei Farm Sale buy) Edict Of Nantes, who is now plying his trade as Northern Superstar in Hong Kong.
The latter has been entered for the Chevalier Cup at Sha Tin this Sunday.
Also broodmare sire of Sunday’s Australian winner Scarlet Dream, Count Dubois has more than 40 stakes horses to his name, including champions Asylum Seeker, Edict Of Nantes and French Navy.
He is also responsible for recent Listed Laisserfaire Stakes winner Anime.
Count Dubois, whose daughters are enjoying increasing success as broodmares, is from the same family as exported G1 Daily News 2000 hero Surcharge as well as the hugely influential sires and broodmare sires Kris (broodmare sire of Invincible Spirit and Kodiac) and Diesis.
