Maine Chance Farms’ sensational sire Vercingetorix had another good day on Friday, when the champion son of champion sire Silvano came up with two more winners.
Vercingetorix’s Friday double was headed by his unbeaten daughter Peach Daiquiri romped to a facile victory in the Fillies Guineas Plate (1400m) at Fairview.
Winner of her first two starts, by an aggregate of more than eight and a half lengths, the Sharon Kotzen trained Peach Daiquiri made it three wins from three starts with a blistering performance in the Fillies Guineas Plate.
Under Raymond Danielson, Peach Daiquiri simply destroyed her rivals when romping to a five and a quarter length win over Listed WSB Dahlia Plate heroine Ekoria on Friday.
Bred by Maine Chance Farms, three-year-old Peach Daiquiri is out of the Querari mare Pomona and is thus bred on the same Vercingetorix/Querari cross as G1 WSB Cape Fillies Guineas winner Chansonette.
Vercingetorix’s second success on Friday came when his Zietsman Oosthuizen trained son Paris Rix came from nowhere to score a thrilling win in the seventh race at Fairview.
Runner up on the South African general sires list last season, Vercingetorix is currently the Leading Sire in South Africa, by stakes, for the 2022-2023 season.
